Not sure if this is the right place for this question or not....wondering about wild camp options on Gigha. I know we have freedom to roam up here but you still find the odd unenlightened landowner so I would prefer to avoid any unpleasantness if at all possible. Theres a likely looking spot on the northwest of the island near Eilean Garbh. Does anyone have any experience ?

    Hi
I think the most common spot is next to the Boat House restaurant just south of the ferry terminal. Dinner is highly recommended. Not sure of winter hours so best to check.

    Hi Balgarvie

I make a point not to reveal wild camping spots, but there are loads to the north of the island, well away from houses. Allymac is right, the most common place to camp, as described in the book, is next to the boathouse restaurant.

But it's not wild camping. When we were there, we had to pay the hotel. Thing shave changed and now you pay the Boathouse, who tell me they're putting the money toward providing improved camping facilities.
